One tech piece caught my eye – I’ve never seen an “intumescent disk” before.  I’ve heard of intumescent paint for exposed structural steel pieces in architectural applications, but not in lighting product applications to achieve a fire rating.  They say: “…this is achieved through mechanical expansion of the intumescent material, filling the heat sink casing”.
