Via Sixteen:Nine: Experience design firm Moment Factory has completed a very interesting hotel lobby project at the Grand Magic Hotel near Disneyland Paris that extensively uses digital signage, digital projection and digital lighting as primary architectural elements. The overall effect is stunning and showcases the importance of digital media content to determine the experience of a physical place, especially as it transforms over time.
The primary columns consist of (120) 55-inch narrow-bezel LCD screens from Samsung. The arches are clearly RGB pixel/tape strips of some sort.
Note how Moment Factory cleverly uses anamorphic/forced perspective techniques, false frames, and cleverly matches the content of the media to the pixel mapping of the arches.
