Protopixel is an interesting RGB lighting control system from a Barcelona-based startup. Beyond the normal dynamic lighting controls, Protopixel is building in some nice functionality for integrating live data inputs to control lighting. Also, I find it interesting to see that they are including multi-site deployment right from the beginning.
Protopixel falls into this new class of lighting controls that has been developed with live data integration, cloud connectivity, live viz, pixel mapping and/or multi site controls from the beginning, including examples like Skandal or LightAct. More venerable examples include Isadora from Troikatronix or Touch Designer by Derivative. Even crazier, check out the ability to use Unreal Engine to drive DMX lighting.
