Frankfurt-based Smartengine is a supplier of Power-over-Ethernet smart building technologies, sensors, lighting and controls. A few team members from wtec approached me after my presentation on DC power at the 2020 Smart Building Conference here in Amsterdam. If I remember correctly, the wtec team is carrying on from the ashes of Redwood Systems, one of the earliest pioneers for Power-over-Ethernet lighting solutions over a decade ago.

Their project portfolio shows some good progress. They state:
With over 500 completed projects and a total of more than 15 million square feet of space, we have been able to gather a wealth of experience in various fields of application since 2012.
Wishing them success in their endeavors. PoE is a logical component in the transition to DC-based net-zero buildings.
