The ceiling design of this department store by H2R design in Abu Dhabi really captured my attention. The ceiling is a segmented series of coves, completed with rounded outer frames and curved inner scallops blending from vertical to the horizontal upper ceiling. The lighting seems to be a very slender strip around the perimeter, I’m presuming an LED flexstrip with diffusion set on some discrete metal perimeter trim. The overall effect really fills the retail floor with a soft, beautiful brilliance and distinctive architectural appearance. Via design:retail.

I have to imagine that these ceiling coves were largely prefabricated off site and brought in whole or assembled in large chunks?
