Nexmosphere is an Eindhoven-based startup/spinoff that is developing a technology platform for interactive experiences in “bricks’n’morter” retail environments.
To quote their site:
Nexmosphere develops products that enable a rich and intuitive shopping experience that will change the way we shop. Combine all our elements such as light, touch, video, audio, pick-up & presence sensors for a tailored shopper journey and enjoy the benefits of one single Xperience controller controlling it.
They were demoing an interactive shelf display at Integrated Systems Europe show this past week. RFID tags on shoes triggered display content and changed the lighting of the glowing shelf under each shoe (sorry…I forgot to take a picture!). A simple but effective display.
I wish them the best of luck…one of these days these concepts in interactivity in architectural spaces will break through to the mainstream…
