UK-based Plessey Semiconductor recently released an ultra-low profile LED module series named Orion that appears to combine chip-scale-packages with ultra-compact optics to create LED module assemblies under 1 cm in height, with beam angles as tight at 15 degrees.
Its nice to see the miniaturization trends in LED lighting continue to play out. Miniaturization of all aspects of LED lighting technology is a key component to driving the adoption of embedded architectural lighting systems.
