PERCH is a New York-based startup led by MIT-alum Jared Schiffman which is developing interactive retail displays that combine a variety of sensing technologies, digital displays, projections, physical product and digital content into a sleek consumer experience.
Clearly reminiscent of the early work from the Tangible Bits group at MIT’s Media Lab, nevertheless I especially like the refinement and simplicity of some of Perch’s more recent examples.
And the glass shelving in front of the LCD reminds me of my own thesis in interactive retail design…from a time long, long ago in a land far, far away…
