Zumtobel formally announced that Rogier van der Heide is becoming their Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Design Officer.  Rogier was previously the Chief Design Officer for Philips Lighting, where I worked for him as part of the Iconic Projects Team in the Design group.  Among many, many fabulous projects he has led over his career, Rogier was instrumental in the development of the lighting design for the Rijksmuseum (which I covered in several blog posts), a project which stretched back for Rogier as the head of ARUP’s global lighting design services and even before that as an independent lighting designer in Amsterdam.

Rogier is a deeply inspirational guy with an intense focus on the customer experience (check out his TED Talk). I wish him the best of luck at Zumtobel.
