l+b:Artemide

Artemide continues to be, well…Artemide.  Essentially a hoity-toity collection of art pieces, never-the-less their art involves some creative uses of light and they certainly have some winners.  And for sure:  If you have to ask how much they cost, you and your project can’t afford them.

A very unusual track fixture using a complicated reflector and rod optics system.  Looks very cool; I’m not sure if this is the product of some optical genius or an optical madman.  The clear housing has to be cleaned constantly in order to look good though…fingerprints and dust just make it look cheap.

A new collection of folded paper lanterns from Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake was simple and elegant.

A very nice projected light effect.

A wall decoration with a beautiful edge-lit 3D sculptural pattern.  Seeing the pattern of LED dots behind the frosted panel along the edge was a bit cheap looking, however.  They need to clean that up.

Finally, a gorgeous pendant design.
