It is ridiculous that the LED revolution reduced the lighting industry to this state. The most basic, simplistic of module/lamp standards would have prevented this needless compromise of thermal cooling/efficacy vs cost. Innovative replaceable LED engines would have opened up new innovations at the fixture level while reducing massive amounts of toxic e-waste that will be ultimately produced by the lighting industry.
