Nice interview with David Rose, an MIT researcher and designer who has great ideas on ambient communications.
I’m surprised I haven’t met David – a lot of our concepts on integrating digital content into the built environment are very similar and we both seem rooted back to the work the Tangible Media Group at the MIT Media Lab did in the late ’90s.
The tool or “sandbox” he describes for connecting data to architectural environments is very similar to what SkandalTech is developing. It is really a revolutionary control methodology for architectural and urban spaces.
And checkout the design concepts that I helped Yasaman Mavvaj explore for her thesis on ambient communications this past year at TU Delft’s Industrial Design program.
