A new Silicon Valley startup called Brilliant is launching an interesting smart-home controller/lighting dimmer that integrates a touch screen with optional touch-sensitive physical sliders.
Replacing native 120V wall switches, the Brilliant has real dimmers inside it (you can even select between leading edge and trailing edge dimming!), plus a host of the latest, greatest smart tech, like voice control, ambient light sensing, motion sensor, even a video intercom function. It connects via Bluetooth and WIFI to a large range of the most popular smart home devices.
And I think the price is right, starting at $199 for the single switch. Remember the days when a touch screen Crestron with far less functionality cost about 10X that amount????
