luminous ceiling at eindhoven station

As part of the renovation of the Central Station at Eindhoven in the Netherlands, a new luminous ceiling is being installed throughout.  Here is the concept video:

I shot some pictures during construction.  I believe the contractor installing the ceiling is Akoestiek Montage Brabant, who’ve we worked with installing some Luminous Patterns installations.  AMB installs lots of Barrisol, so I’m guessing the station is using that as a the material.  I can’t identify who made the LED engines.

I was thinking they were going to have a major problem with bugs and grime falling into the top, but if you look very closely, it appears that they are installing a second clear layer directly above the translucent layer.  This would make sense – the clear layer would capture all the grim and it wouldn’t be visible on the layer below.
