microsoft, mitsubishi, and 3m

Via Digital Arts: Microsoft demo’d a small research project showing how consumers may one day print and assemble electronics.

What I found interesting were the two suppliers mentioned:

Mitsubishi Imaging is Mitsubishi’s commercial printing division and they are now advertising a two-part system with a silver nano-particle conductive ink and special printing media that apparently do require the sintering step.

3M is selling a conductive double-sided adhesive tape that is conductive only in the Z-axis.  It can be used to bond electronic components without soldering or any sort of adhesive curing stages.
