View Dynamic Glass produces electrochromic tinted glass for architectural curtainwall systems.  According to the Wall Street Journal, View just won $100m in VC investment — “one of the largest deals for a clean-technology company in the past 12 months”.

Electrochromic glass solves the inherent problem that everyone wants a view — but when the sun shines, that gorgeous wall of glass quickly turns into a hotter’n’hell greenhouse.  Dynamically tinted glass mediates that problem without cumbersome shades or mechanical louvers.  Of course, View Dynamic has a whole networked monitoring and control offering, which increases the intelligence of the system.  In the future, I’m sure these systems will be unified with lighting controls, to help create a more seamless experience.
