Houzz has a good blog post with some imagery from the recent Tom Cruise flick “Oblivion.” Sci-fi movies are a great place to see the future of lighting design, and the interior sets from Oblivion show some slick, modernist lighting integrated cleanly into the ceilings and architectural details. Although I think I’m getting a little jaded…the future doesn’t seem that advanced anymore. In fact, the sets here look like something out of the XAL catalog, frankly.
The movie was pretty good too…kind of a fun mash-up of Wall-E, Top Gun, and 2001: A Space Odyssey.
