Alex Cochrane Architects has created a space for shoppers at London department store Selfridges to find peace and quiet amid the bustling emporium.
I love the simple, minimal lighting effect: a halo of light slipping out from beneath and behind the bench; plus the contrast between the dark corridor and the interior room. The room is lined with acoustic felt, but contrasted with the sharp lines of the wood bench. Nice little project…just don’t look at the ceiling!
