TouchDesigner by Derivative looks like an amazing piece of software, used for a wide range of video manipulation.
TouchDesigner’s list of applications include interactive art production, architectural + environmental projections, engineering and research visualization, user interface prototyping, live show control, among others.
Although the uses for the software are amazing, what really strikes me is the interface. Visual representations of content, filters, action items, and outputs are all connected in an object-oriented style interface that is reminiscent of the parametric design plugin for Rhino called Grasshopper. Is this commonality forecasting the future of lighting design? Digital content pumped through live parametric editors, applied to parametric architectural form generators?
