Marvel Labs is a startup by a corporate innovation guy and a 3D printing veteran that claims to have a fully bio-based material solution for binder-jet style 3D printing. They claim to have a bio-based binder that can work on a variety of pulverized, powdery bio-waste materials, including sawdust, coffee grounds and sargassum/seaweed.
One of the cofounders, Andy Jeffery, previously founded and exited Forust, a 3D printing startup that focused on sawdust/wood printing.
I’ll believe it when I see it, but a 100% biobased filler and resin combo for 3D printing would be profound in moving many different manufacturing streams towards truly sustainable, non-toxic parts.
